I’m very picky about dresses. This means I make all of my own, because I can NEVER find any that fit well.
This ice-dyed dress is one of my favourites. It fits beautifully, has held its shape, and the ice-dye colourway is gorgeously bright yet subtle enough to wear without getting the side-eye in outback Queensland towns (well, not TOO often, anyway).
Watch me change it from boring white to beautifully ice-dyed!
I used powdered dyes in yellow, blue, and green. I use Procion dyes, but if you want something a little simpler Tulip tie-dye kits are a great option. Just remove the powdered dye from the bottles and sprinkle it over your ice.
The FREE dress pattern is the Brief Encounter from So Sew Easy – it really was so easy to make. It was also easy to adjust it a little for my odd shape.
We use Procion dyes, but if you want something a little simpler Tulip tie-dye kits are a great option.
Thanks for watching! We’d love to hear if you decide to try it and DIY your own tie dyes. Tag @dyediyhq on Instagram or Facebook and we’ll check it out.
