The girls thought that it was only fair that if Forrest got a tie-dye hoodie, they did too.

So we went back to the shops and found a black hoodie, and decided to bleach then tie-dye over it.

Admittedly, we went a little bit overboard with the bleach because it was meant to have more black. Bleach doesn’t really work on synthetic fabric, and the hoodie is a polyester/cotton mix. Luckily most of the surface was cotton, and the bleach removed enough of the colour to allow us to overdye it.

Gabrielle is wearing it regularly though, so it must be OK.

I think I’ll be making more soon – all of us girls want a tie-dye hoodie now!

We use Procion dyes, but if you want something a little simpler Tulip tie-dye kits are a great option.
